It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Thomas Rose, who peacefully lost his battle with cancer on September 6, 2026.

Born on August 23, 1959, Mike lived a life filled with love, family, music, laughter, and memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Mike leaves behind his beloved wife, Angela Rose, his Angel, who stood beside him with love and devotion. He is also survived by daughters, Nicholle Austed; and Rachel White-Ware (Smith); and son, Michael Smith, along with his many cherished grandchildren, stepmother Connie Rose, two sisters; Jamie (Jon) Glaefke; and Rebecca Rose (Jim Hranko), Nephews and Nieces; Angela Sarno, Justin Howell, Jamon Howell, and Kate Sprankle. He was proceeded in death by his parents: Peggy (Laurence) Dunkel; Virgil Rose.

Among all the relationships Mike held dear, there was something especially precious about the bond shared with his grandson, Coltyn Smith (Rachel White-Ware Smith). Their connection was filled with a special kind of love that words can't describe. Coltyn will forever carry the memories, love, and moments they shared in his heart.

Mike had a deep love for music. A true Grateful Dead head, he found joy in music he loved and was known for playing the harmonica. Music was more than something he listened to, it was a part of who he was, a way he expressed himself and brought joy to those around him.

Michael's life may have ended, but his story does not. It continues through his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, nephews, nieces and everyone who was lucky enough to share a part of his journey.

His family will remember his love, his music, his laughter, and the countless memories he leaves behind. And whenever a familiar song plays or the sound of a harmonica fills the air, they will be reminded of Mike and the love he gave so freely.

Mike, you fought a courageous battle. Now you can rest.

You will forever be Angela's Angel, your children's father, your grandchildren's Papaw, and a very special grandfather to Coltyn.

Until we meet again.
