Omar Wengerd

Omar Dale Wengerd, 88, of Wooster, passed away Thursday April 20, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.

Omar was born April 9, 1935, in Fredricksburg to Eli J. and Susie {Hochstetler} Wengerd. He married Nettie Miller on November 3, 1954. She passed away in 2021. 

Omar was a maintenance foreman for the former Land-O-Lakes. He was a religious man who was deeply devoted to his family. Omar was an advisor for several youth groups with Nettie over the years. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

Omar will be deeply missed by his children Dale (David) Deschner of Perrysville and Daryl (Terry) Perrine of Wooster; grandchildren Benjamin, T.A., Cydni, Jordan; 9 great-grandchildren; brother Dallas Wengerd of Fredricksburg and sister Velma Miller of Millersburg.

Omar was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nettie, siblings Claude Wengerd, Phyllis Weaver, Freeda Gingrich, Alice Miller, Beatrice Miller, and Paul Wengerd.

Friends may call Friday, April 28 from 10-11am at Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 11 am with Pastor Daron Butler officiating.
