Percy Max Clark

December 29, 1938 — December 22, 2023

Ashland

Percy Max Clark, born on December 29, 1937, in Marianna, Arkansas, was the beloved son of Charles Edward Clark and Elsie Mae Clark. In the comfort of his family's presence, Percy spent his final days, surrounded by loved ones. On December 22, 2023, he peacefully joined the Lord in glory.

Preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Clark and Elsie Mae Clark; three brothers, William Edward Clark, Bobby Pardo Clark, James Valentine Clark; daughter and son-in-law, Debby (Clark) Eutsay and Nate Eutsay; and one grandson, Jacob Kyle Clark.

Percy is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Nancy Larue (Bushley) Clark. Their enduring love story serves as an inspiration, marked by self-sacrificial love and unwavering commitment. They met in Fort Lee, Virginia, on April 19, 1957, and were married on June 16, 1957. To this union, one daughter and three sons were born.

Percy is also survived by his sons; Daniel (Kari)  Clark of Jeromsville, Doug (Debbie Dingus) Clark of Ashland, and David (Lisa) Clark of Ashland. His legacy extends to his grandchildren; Joilee Eutsay, Holly Eutsay, both of Mansfield, OH, Rachel (Josh) Bell of Mountain View, MO, Chris Walter, Maranda (Bill) James, and Trevor Cooper all of Ashland, Keirstin (Jarrod) Carroll, Kelsey (Josh) Barr, Karson Clark, all of Jeromsville, Kasi (Chad) Blanton of Marion, OH, Kristian (Lane) Brown of Ashland, Megan Bowman, Zachary (Krystal) Clark, Trevor (Tori) Clark, all of Ashland. Percy is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Frances (Clark) Edwards (Nathan) of Beebee, AR; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Deeply devoted to the Lord, his wife, and his family, Percy cherished moments spent with loved ones. Whether gathered around the table, sharing stories, or celebrating at large family get-togethers, his infectious smile and warm bear hugs made these moments unforgettable. In July 1962, Percy embraced Christ as his Lord and Savior. His dedication to serving the body of Christ was evident through his melodious contributions to the choir, skillful navigation of the church bus, and unwavering commitment as an active member of First Baptist Church. Over the last 24 years, Percy and his beloved Nancy found joy and fulfillment as dedicated members of Calvary Baptist Church, sharing their faith and creating lasting memories within the church community.

Percy was a man of unwavering work ethic and skilled hands. His formative years on a farm shaped his core values, which he diligently passed on to his children, instilling in them the significance of hard work.

Above all, Percy was a man of deep faith. He wished for everyone he loved to trust, rest, and believe in the Lord. He desired that we lead lives exemplifying God's strength in our weakness (2 Cor. 12:10,12, 11:30), recognizing His faithfulness amidst trials, and holding onto the future hope found in Jesus beyond death (1 Peter 1:3-9).

As Percy's family rejoices, finding solace in the knowledge that he is now in glory with our faithful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, they also mourn deeply for their loss. They will continue to cherish and hold dear the love, memories, and moments shared with him. Until that joyous day when they, too, come to glory to be with the Lord and reunite with Percy, they will carry his spirit in their hearts.
