Rex Eugene Wagers

Rex Eugene Wagers, 87, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Rex was born on May 21, 1938, in Ashland, Ohio, to William and Phyllis {Wells} Wagers. He graduated from Smithville High School in 1956. On December 29, 1962, Rex married his high school sweetheart Ruth Elaine Falb. She preceded him in death on October 14, 2013. He later married Marilyn Court.

Rex was employed as an Engineer with Greif Bros. Corporation, where he successfully developed many creative inventions for the Corporation four of which held US Patents for the Company. Rex was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church Kingsport, TN and later of First United Church of Hudson. Rex enjoyed spending time with his Family, Saltwater Fishing, Golfing, Old Cars, and creating in his workshop. Rex’s true passion in life was serving others and will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity in helping others.

Rex will be deeply missed by his wife; his son’s family, Ross & Deana Wagers; two grandchildren Dustin Wagers (Amber), Kaitlyn Wagers - Thompson (Bo) and four great grandchildren True Thompson, Luke Thompson, Juliette Wagers, & Scarlette Wagers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his son, Ryan Wagers; and his sister, Bonnie Wagers-Franks.

Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster, on March 13th, 2026 @ 10:00AM where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
