Richard “Rick” Jay Geitgey, 65, of Rittman, passed away peacefully at Doylestown Healthcare Center on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Rick was born August 10, 1958, in Wadsworth, Ohio to Gary Alan and Dorothy Lee {Simons} Geitgey. He attended Rittman High School and Wayne County Career Center before he entered the workforce as a Machinist. He worked for over 25 years at Moog FloTork in Orrville and then Tekfor in Wooster before retiring due to a medical condition in 2017.
He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, children, and grandchildren. Rick was a talented model builder and was always found in his garage building his Remote-Control Airplanes or Helicopters. He also loved playing with his dogs and riding his motorcycles.
Rick will be missed by his children; Bambi (Mike) Bowser, and Jade (James) Fisher; grandchildren Brian, Isabelle, Monica, and Vincent; sister Kimber Geitgey of Rittman; and many extended family members.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary “Butch” Geitgey Jr.
Friends may call Friday from 4-5 pm at Roberts Funeral Home Hillcrest Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 5 pm with Pastor Jerry Butcher officiating.
