Richard P. Schalmo

Richard P. Schalmo, 75, of Shreve, died May 17, 2024 at Akron General Hosptial.

Dick was born October 4, 1948 in Wooster, Ohio to Leroy C. and Mary C. {Konen} Schalmo.

He served in the US Army.

He married Mary Jo {Campbell} Schalmo on February 25, 2006. She survives.

He worked for E. J. Stutzman before retiring in 2012. He enjoyed farming and helping his neighbors.

Dick will be deeply missed by his wife; children Richard R. (Betsy), Fritz C. (Barbie), Ryan S.P., and Ross L. (Melissa) Schalmo; 7 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; brother Joe C. (Marcian) Schalmo; sisters Margaret Meeker, and Florence (Dennie) Eckstein; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, son Scott Schalmo, brother Fred Schalmo and brother-in-law Chester Meeker.

Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
