Rita Diann Goossens

Rita Diann Goossens, 74, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her home with her family, in Mount Vernon.

Rita was born January 28, 1949, in Mount Vernon, OH, to John Christopher and Marion Louise {Hutton} McMahon.

She married Lawrence “Bud” Goossens on December 28^th, 1973.  He preceded her in death on February 23, 2018.    

Rita worked for the Knox County Career Center for over 15 years before she retired in 2019.   She was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Church. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers.  

Rita will be deeply missed by her sons, Robert Montgomery and Cody Goossens; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, whom she greatly adored, and her sister Paula (Floyd) Daubenmier.  

Friends may call Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Hamond officiating.  Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens; Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com   Memorial contributions can be made to the horticultural program at the Knox County Career Center in her name.
