Rita V Tomassetti

Rita Virginia Tomassetti, 96, of Orrville, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026 with her family by her side.

Rita was born on December 28, 1929, to Mose Benjaman and Anna Caroline {Lorson} Perkins. She graduated from Orrville High School in 1948.

She married Robert “Bobby” Tomassetti on June 20, 1951, at St. Agnes Church in Orrville, they were married over 54 years before he passed away March 26, 2006.

Rita retired from Westinghouse Corp. in 1989 and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and a longtime fan of the Cleveland Guardians (Indians). She loved watching and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rita will be deeply missed by her children Christine "Chris" (Jim) Davis, Daniel Tomassetti, and Caren (Mike) Howes, all of Orrville; nine grandchildren James (Fiancé Catalina) Davis, Justin (Beth) Davis, Drew Bowers, Maddie (Dan) Kipfer, Brian Tomassetti, Joe (Susan) Tomassetti, Kate (Justin) Plant, Laurel Rich, and Kalea Hubbard; and great-grandchildren

Dominic, Andrew, Ella, Whitt, Sophie, Cole, Chase, Janelle, and Jacob; long-time special friend Marilyn Bracken and brother-in-law Fred Harding, many nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; a son, R. David Tomassetti, great-grandson Brandon; siblings Robert, Raymond “Pete”, Roy “Jake”, Richard, Ross, Ruth and Rachel.

A loving, caring mother and mother-in-law, what a blessing to have a mother who was a loving mother, never interfering, always supportive, and always grateful and helpful. We love you mom.

Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. A service of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Rita-Tomassetti) with Father Ronald J. Turek officiating.
