Robert "Bob" Hendershot

Robert L. “Bob” Hendershot, 87 of Smithville, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Smithville Western Care Center, in Wooster.

Bob was born March 23, 1938, in Beallsville, OH to Lester and Trella M {Phillips} Hendershot.

He married Sandra K. Danford on July 3, 1965. She passed away August 15, 2003. Bob retired from Quality Fiberglass in Marshallville after many years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ and was active in Boy Scout Troop 73 in Smithville. He loved his family and had a great sense of humor, often saying, “My cup of coffee has a hole in it.”

Bob will be deeply missed by his children Jeffrey A. (Laura) Hendershot of Groton, MA, Debra A. (Rick) Thompson of Sterling, and Lynn R (Aaron) Glass of Polk; grandchildren Aaron, David, and Jesse Hendershot; Cole (Shannon) Thompson; Kayla Hendershot; and Sandra Chaffin; great grandchildren Grayson and Ivy; and his brother, Roger (Patricia) Hendershot of Jerusalem, OH. Also surviving is close family friend Pat Powers.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra.
