Robert "Bob" Zakutni

Robert “Bob” Zakutni, 75, of Perrysville, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on April 17, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward and Mary {Casper} Zakutni.

He married Ruth Starkey on June 20, 2005; she survives.

Bob retired from building services at Ashland Theological Seminary after over 30 years. Bob loved to ride Harley’s with his wife. They had many adventures together traveling along the East coast and Nova Scotia. Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Bob was a true community advocate. He was an active member of the Perrysville Village Counsel, Green-Perrysville Joint Fire District Board, and the Greenlawn Union Cemetery Board. Bob was a dedicated supporter of Veteran’s and all Veteran’s Associations. Bob was a strong man of faith as prayer warrior and a chaplain for Racers for Christ. He was a man known for always putting others before himself.

Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his wife; children Derrick Aten, Stephanie Pooler, Josh Zakutni, Mike (fiancé Krystal) Aten and 7 grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may visit Tuesday, July 28 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel. Services will follow at 3:33 p.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Robert-Zakutni) with Pastor Mike Imhoff officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
