Russell Wayne Forrer

Russell Wayne Forrer, 93, of Wooster, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Russell was born in Orrville, Ohio on January 27, 1929, to George W. and Mabel F. (Caillet) Forrer. He graduated from Orrville High School in 1949. He married Betty Ann Hartzler on January 14, 1955.

Russell was a member of the Northview Alliance Church where he was a trustee for many years. He loved working the family farm early in his married life. Later he worked for Green Township as the road maintenance supervisor. In retirement Russell loved to keep busy with family and enjoyed gardening, metal working, and traveling.

Russell will be greatly missed by his children Randy (Sharon) Forrer of Bluffton,  Craig (Lorey) Forrer of Apple Creek, Michelle (Roger) Myers of Cranberry Twp., PA, Todd (Linda) Forrer of North Lawrence, and Sandy Forrer of Carrollton, grandchildren Randa (Brian) Kinn, Lisa (Mike) McBrien, Wayne (Jacquie) Forrer, Beth (Josh) McKee, Stacy (Kyle) Clark, Matthew Myers, Spencer Myers, Anthony (Carolyn) Forrer, Amanda (Jon) Pabst, Andrew (Rachel) Forrer, Audrey (Seth) Houser, Abrahm Forrer, and Annette (Logan) Menuez, 22 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years, and his sisters, Irene Lee, Edith Pyers, Luella Phillips, Alpha Bowers, and Arlene Milford, and infant brother Raymond Forrer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Northview Alliance Church on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 2pm with Pastor Matt Walker officiating. Private family burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting with arrangements.

The family would like to thank the caregivers, staff and RNs at Danbury Senior Living and Wooster Lifecare Hospice.
