Ruth E McKenzie

Ruth E. McKenzie, 88, of Mount Vernon OH, died Monday September 20, 2022 at Knox Community Hospital, in Mount Vernon.  Ruth was born May 21, 1934 in Texas to Wesley and Norma (Allen) Wolcott.

She was the second female pilot in Knox CO in 1968 and went on to manage the office for the Knox County Airport. She then moved to Denver CO. where she managed the office for Hoffman Pilot Center.  She attended Mount Vernon Academy and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  She enjoyed quilting, puzzles, her family and of course flying.    

Ruth will be deeply missed by her daughter Jennifer (Larry) Cabral;  grandchildren, Steve (Kelly) Cabral, Christina Cabral, and great-granddaughter Josefina Cabral. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Marilyn and Nellwyn, and son Steven McKenzie.  Her family will celebrate her life at a later date.
