Shelby Jean Deem

Shelby Jean Deem, 89, of Belpre, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.

Shelby was born May 13, 1936 in Gamoca, West Virginia to Linnel and Reva {Jones} Workman.

She graduated from Gauley Bridge High School. Shelby was a veteran of the United States Army.

Shelby retired from Kaiser Aluminum after many years of employment. Following their retirement, her and her husband Ray moved to Myrtle Beach where they enjoyed fishing and laying on the beach. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Shelby will be deeply missed by her son Mark (Cheryl) Perdue and numerous family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Shelby was preceded in death by her husband Ray Deem in 2023.

In keeping with Shelby’s wishes, a graveside service will be held Friday, September 19th at 11a.m. at Evergreen Memory Gardens on 339, where military rites will be held.
