Sidney Jay Rine

Sidney Jay Rine, 93, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Wooster Community Hospital.

Sidney was born April 11, 1933, in Woodlands, West Virginia to Noah and Amanda {Gilbert} Rine.

He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War.

He married Leah Etling on July 14, 1956. They were married 70 years.

Sidney retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1984. He enjoyed gardening, coon and rabbit hunting, and raising Beagle dogs.

Sidney will be deeply missed by his wife Leah; sister Marigene Keefe of Lima, Ohio; nephew Lane (Toni) Rine and their daughter Amanda of Moundsville, West Virginia and many nieces and nephews.

Sidney was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Leatha Mercer, Virginia VanScyoc, Mary White, Clifford, Earlin, Ellis Rine, Ila Hershman, and Ruth.
