Vernon Lee Kriner Sr.

Vernon Lee Kriner Sr., 83, of Wooster, passed away Monday July 13, 2026, at Akron General Hospital.

Vernon was born August 1, 1942, in Wooster, Ohio to Paul and Leota {Brubaker} Kriner.

Vernon proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He worked 37 years at Bosch as a machinist. Vernon was very active in Smithville First Church of God for many years; he was a trustee. He loved bowling, the Cleveland Indians, his animals, and spending time and playing chess with his grandchildren. Vernon enjoyed traveling out West and being anywhere it was warm. He will always be remembered by his sense of humor and his willingness to help others.

Vernon will be deeply missed by the mother of his children Virginia Raney; children James “Jim” (Chris) Kriner, Sandy Schuler, Vernon “Lee” Kriner Jr.; grandchildren Kevin Nesbit, Robert Harstine, Willy Atkinson, Nichole Schuler, Jacob Schuler, Christopher Kriner and Faith Kriner; great-grandchildren Natalie Nesbit, Gideon Nesbit, David Bellomy; and brother Ronald Kriner.

Vernon was preceded in death by his wives Martha and Manneta, brother Roger Kriner, and sister Eilene Mosier.

Friends may call Wednesday, July 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
