Vickie Elizabeth Johnson, 77, of Wooster, died December 5, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, in Wooster.
Vickie was born April 5, 1948 in Peru, Indiana. Vickie was the daughter of the late Ellis family and grew up with a strong sense of independence, with an indomitable spirit that she carried throughout her life. In May of 1980, she married the love of her life, Carrol W. Johnson, with whom she shared over two decades of marriage until his passing in 2002.
Vickie is survived by her brother Larry Ellis; her daughters Katie (Tony Wasman) Johnson and Melody Johnson; and her beloved grandchildren Devon Mullins, Dustin (Faith Densmore) Smith, Cody (Tana Bachman) Wasman, Brandi Wasman, Kadin Hamlin, Makenzie Hamlin, and Adalynn Hamlin; as well as her cherished great-granddaughters Everlee Smith and Wrenly Wasman; and many nieces and nephews. Her family was the heart of her world, and she took immense pride in each of them.
Vickie enjoyed a vibrant social life and was a devoted member of several community organizations. She was an active member of the Wooster American Legion and a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #811, where she proudly served in the auxiliary for many years. Her involvement brought her lasting friendship and a strong sense of community.
A true plant enthusiast, Vickie was blessed with an extraordinary green thumb. She spent countless summer days tending to her flowers, nurturing life and beauty wherever she could. Vickie loved her music and dancing. She loved creating floral crafts, sharing them with family and friends, and brightening the spaces around her. Vickie also adored jewelry and cherished her times getting her hair and nails done with her friend and stylist Gabby Cunningham, and the original House of Hair crew, little moments that brought her so much joy.
Vickie will be remembered for her warmth, humor, creativity, and the love she poured into her family and passions. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to bloom in the lives of those who loved her.
