William Joseph Braucher Sr., 77, of Wooster, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025, at LifeCare Hospice, in Wooster.
William was born March 6, 1948 in Wooster to Harold Elsworth and Marie Frances {Holbach} Braucher.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Bill married Susan Jester on July 14, 1984. She passed away on June 19, 2014. He then married Tina Hurt on September 13,2020. She survives.
Bill worked for Sears for 30 years, for Montana Products, and finally retired from Medina County where he worked as a sanitary engineer. He was a member of the Oak Chapel United Methodist Church and of Ebenezer F&AM Lodge #33, and the American Legion Post 68. A leader in multiple boy scout and adventurer troops, he was also involved as a First Aid and CPR trainer. Bill enjoyed teasing and making jokes. He loved tinkering in his workshop, mostly electronics and fixing whatever needed soldered or glued. A techie at heart.
Bill will be deeply missed by his wife, Tina; children William "Billy" (Leslie) Braucher II of Eastlake and their children Aleks, Greg, and Nikola Rauzan and Wilson Braucher, Misty (Lance) Lee of Newbern, North Carolina and their children Ashton, Sophia, and Andrea Lee, Tracy (Joshua) Braucher – Miller of Wooster and their children Terra Aten, Jaxson and Zoe Everett, Benjamin, Harper, and Elliott Miller, and Tim Braucher and his children Cody Braucher, Amber Bower; step-children Zachary, Jonathan, and Kerry Stevenson; great-grandchildren Branson, Brittyn, and Braxx Bower; and mother-in-law Paula Shrader.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan, parents, siblings James, Harold (Evelyn) and Jack Braucher.
Friends may call Thursday, July 31 from 10 to 11 a.m on. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Masonic and funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/William-Braucher) with Pastor John Finn officiating.
