Wilma Marie Ray (Nee Nay), born August 16, 1930 in Akron, Ohio, passed away into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 9, 2026 in Hartville, Ohio.
Wilma was a graduate of East High School. Upon graduation, she worked at Akron City Hospital where she served as a dietary aid, before marrying James and becoming a mother and homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, James, her parents, William and Clara, her brothers, Robert, Harold, William, and Baby Nay, her sister, Helen, her nephew, Robert, and her niece, Nancy.
She leaves behind her five loving children: Lynn Gaddis (Bill), Constance Scava (Randy), David Ray (Barbara), Carolyn McBee (Robert), and Laura Kaufman (Eric), as well as her niece Cheryl Wilbur (Frank) and nephew, Robert Boyer. She also leaves behind 9 adored grandchildren and 8 precious great grandchildren.
Wilma will be remembered as a nurturing mother and grandmother (Nonnie) whose greatest legacy is that of integrity, wisdom, and, most importantly, faith and love of Christ. She loved our Lord with all her heart, mind, and soul, and this was her prayer for each and every one of us: To love Christ and to humbly follow Him.
Glory to God! We have been blessed! Blessed to have this beautiful soul in our lives.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” May your memory be eternal.
