Arlene Feather

September 14, 1931 — July 19, 2021

Arlene F. Feather fought a good fight, but passed away at her home surrounded by her family on July 19, 2021, after an eight-year battle with cancer.

Arlene was born in Glenmont, Ohio on September 14, 1931 to Harold Lang Sr. and Naomi F. {Snyder} Lang.

Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Friday at 11 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing.

She graduated from Big Prairie High School with the class of 1950, Proud of the Bulldogs.

Arlene worked for 19 years with Reese Optical, and later retired from Apple Creek Developmental Center after 27 years as a nurse.

She married William Frank Feather on December 31, 1955 into 1956 on New Year’s Eve.

Arlene will be deeply missed by her son Roger W. Feather of Jeromesville, and daughter Joyce L. (Michael) Hyatt of Wooster; grandchildren Mackenzie (Kristopher Davis), Cordell, Jesse, Jagger Hyatt all of Wooster, Ohio; great-grandson Clint Montgomery Hyatt. Also special to her heart are her boy Eddie Swain and Popcorn lady Brenda Litt. Her sister-in-law Mary Lang, brother-in-law Milt Wayland of Big Prairie, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Arlene was a beautiful person with a bold personality inside and out. Taking care of her family and extended family was always her purpose. The Wayne County Fair was always her vacation with her sister-in-law Mary Lang, and watching her kids and grandkids shows. Listening to the radio for sports, The Cleveland Indians were her favorite team.  She enjoyed helping her son moving equipment, picking eggs, and raising orphan lambs in her home. Working around her home with her flowers, pulling weeds, and her birds were other pastimes she enjoyed.

In Arlene’s later years, she enjoyed drinking her coffee and watching her neighbors and traffic go by on ST. RT. 95 with her protector Willie, her dog, by her side. Her home was always open to friends and family to gather around her table.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband in December 1984, parents, brother Harold Lang Jr., and sisters Orene Maurer and Carlyn Wayland.
