William "Bill" Alford

William “Bill” Alford, 73, of Wooster, died Sunday, December 29, 2019 at LifeCare Hospice.

Bill was born March 7, 1946 in Akron, Ohio to Edna {Brickles} Alford.

Bill graduated from the University of Akron with a master’s degree in English.

He married Randa Walkowiak Kraftick on March 21, 1986.

Bill retired from the University of Akron, where he taught English Composition. Cats were Bills biggest passion in life. He believed in the mission of Best Friends. Last year, about 733,000 dogs and cats were killed in our nation’s animal shelters, simply because they didn’t have safe places to call home. Together, we can change that and achieve no-kill for dogs and cats nationwide by 2025.

Bill will be deeply missed by his wife; stepson Casey Kraftick of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
