Floyd J. “Sonnie” Denslow,71, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at MedCentral Hopsital in Mansfield.
Sonnie was born August 2, 1939 in New London, Ohioto Floyd Elmer and Lula (Black) Denslow.
Sonnie was a member of the American Legion Post 88, Amvets Post 96,V F W Post 8586,Moose Lodge of Ashland, and the Disabled American Veterans.
Sonnie enjoyed fishing, traveling, and going to casinos. .
Sonnie will be deeply missed by his daughters, Nancy (Steve) Williams, Patricia Hootman, and Karen Denslow, all of Ashland.His grandchildren Brandon Hootman of Tennessee, Benjamin (Bethany) Williams and Nicholas Martin, Both of Ashland.Also,a great- grandchild, Griffin Williams of Ashland.A brother, Tony (Sharon ) Denslow of Elyria.Sisters, Vivian Alvaire of Phoenix, Arizona and Louise Phillips of New London.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters; Claudia Noel and Anita Hartman, and a brother-in-law, Gail Noel.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m.at Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel, 1058 US Rte 250 N., with Pastor Judy Thoms officiating.Entombment will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held. Friends may callSunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
