Norma Jeanne Gilbert, 77, of Wooster, went to be with her Lord Saturday, January 1, 2011 from the Cleveland Clinic ICU department in Cleveland.
She was born May 25, 1933 in Apple Creek, Ohio to the late Milo Merle Sr. and Anna Belle (Parrish) Sturgis.She married Daniel P. Gilbert July 23, 1955, who preceded her in death on November 21, 2000.
Norma retired from Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, FL 3 years ago and moved to Ohio to enjoy her family.She especially enjoyed her great-grandchildren.
Norma will be deeply missed by her daughter Chris (Wally) Scitzs of Glenmont; granddaughters Nicole (David) Winkler of Glenmont and Calli (Greg) Ervin of Loudonville; great-grandchildren Roland Timberlake, Vaden Ervin, Imogen and Rylan Timberlake; step-great-grandchildren Blaine and Abigail Winkler; brother Milo Merle Jr. (Martha) Sturgis of Wooster; sisters-in-law Lee (Roy) Wade of Orrville and Lois Burns of Florida; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 8 at 11:00am at the Roberts Funeral Home- Sherwood Chapel with Pastor John Copus officiating.Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Online tributes may be made at
