Patsy Tate

September 21, 1938 — April 20, 2012

Patsy Ann Tate, 73, of Wooster entered into eternal rest April 20, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer at Burbank Parke with her family and nursing staff at her side.



Calling hours will be held Monday from 6pm to 8pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel in Wooster. Services will be Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home with Reverend Robin Dillon officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive Suite E, Green, Ohio 44685.



Patsy was born September 21, 1938 in Shreve to Ruby Saltsman and the late Larry Dye. She attended and graduated from Shreve High School and lived many years in Shreve before moving to Wooster. She is survived by her husband Frank Tate Jr., of Wooster. They married on October 4, 1957.



Patsy enjoyed singing and playing the piano at various entertainment gatherings, churches, and nursing homes. She was also a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, the Emblem Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Helping other people and spending time with family and friends were rewarding times for Patsy. She worked numerous years at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center as a lab technician.



Surviving are her husband Frank Tate; daughter Jennifer (Keith) Rickett of Wooster; Granddaughter Tabitha White of Wooster; Grandsons Tyler White, Cory Tate and Kyle Tate of Wooster; Daughter-in-law Holly Tate of Wooster; Mother Ruby Saltsman of Wooster; and sisters Janet Cartwright, and Cynthia Schneider of Wooster.



Patsy was preceded in death by her son Jack Tate, father Larry Dye, and stepfather Elwood Saltsman.



The family would like to extend a sincere thank you for the kind loving care Patsy received from all of the staff at Burbank Parke Skilled Nursing Facility.
