Raymond J. Laughery, 82, died Sunday, October 7, 2007, at Grant Hospital in Columbus.
Born May 23, 1925, in Ashland to Raymond and Lois Vida (Stout) Laughery who preceded him in death.
Raymond's wife Loreen K. ?Bailey died in September 2006. ?They were married on August 27, 1955.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a truck driver and retired from Motor Freight Express in Akron, a member of Ashland VFW Post 1067 where he was senior vice commander 2004 ?2007. ?He also enjoyed camping and watching baseball.
Ray will be deeply missed by his daughter Sandi (Raymond) Briggs, grandsons David & Kim Rhoads, Scott Rhoads, Aaron & Wendy Barker, Chad & Ann Barker, and great grandchildren Sean Rhoads, Cody Rhoads, Amanda Rhoads, Nathan Barker, Nicholas Barker, and Zackary Barker, one brother, and two sisters. ?
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
Private family funeral services and entombment were held at Ashland County Memorial Park where military rites were conducted by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. ?There will be no calling hours. ?All funeral arrangements were handled by Roberts Funeral Home -- Ashland Chapel, 1058 US 250 W., Ashland.
