Sophia B. Baughman, 81, of West Salem died Friday April 14, 2006 at Akron General Hospital. ?Services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. ?Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. ??Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com.

She was born May 23, 1924 in Monogah, West Virginia to John and Antonia (Zuzak) Rajs. ?She married Harry E. Baughman on March 12, 1948. ?He died June 27, 1994. ?She graduated from Fairmont University with a BA in education. ?She was a school teacher for 22 years retiring in 1982. ?She also attended the Faith Methodist Church in Burbank, where she was a part of the United Methodist Women. ?She enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family.
Surviving are children David (Cindy) Baughman,Patricia (Wilbur) Stelzer of Trenton, Missouri, Linda Birkes of Smithville, of Burbank and H. Karl (Patricia) Baughman of Richfield, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-granddaughters and sisters Frances Vincent ?and Jean Blumetto both of Fairmont, West Virginia.
In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her brother Rollo Rajs.
