William Rishel

William (Bill) E. Rishel, 71, of Ashland, died Nov. 24, 2006 at his home.
He was born May 15, 1935 in Ashland, the son of Clayton and Lena (Nelson) Martin.
Bill served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.
He was employed at Archway Cookies Inc. in Ashland and Lee County Recreational Park in Fort Myers, Fla. He retired in 2000.
He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed baseball, golf, fishing and woodworking.
He married Carolyn Sue Matthews on Feb. 27, 1974. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Sharon Richel of Ventura, Calif., Karen (Bob) Barker of Brooklyn, Ohio and Diana Meyer of Clearwater, Fla.; sons Ricky Richel of Clearwater, Fla., and Steven (Dana) Rishel of Glenmont, Ohio; a stepdaughter Peggy (Larry) Harper of Ashland; 9 grandchildren, a great grandson; brothers Robert Finley and Earl Warner of Ashland; sisters Loren Linton of Norwalk and Freida Keiser of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by stepson Ricky Akers in February 1999.
