Irene Weiker

Irene Gladys (Premer) Weiker, 98, of Wooster , died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Wayne County Care Center in Wooster . Private graveside services will be held at a later date with the Rev. Kevin Phipps officiating.

Irene was born June 9, 1910 in Wooster , Ohio to Kenneth D. and Lucile Ann (Harmon) Premer. She married Earl R. Weiker on October 23, 1937 . They were married for 65 years before he passed away.

Irene was a member of Central Christian Church and was a graduate nurse from Kinney Hospital in 1928. She loved animals, gardening and traveling.

She will be missed by her brother Kenneth “Dean” Premer of Houston, Texas; nephews Michael Premer of Houston, Texas, Lester Zigler of Shreve and David Premer of Wooster- who was also her loving caregiver; nieces Debbie (Marvin) Scheibe of Wooster and Pat Boussum of California.

In addition to her husband Earl, Irene was preceded by her parents; brothers Harmon and Harold “Gene” Premer; sisters Fay Sigler, Helen Rutter and Pearl Premer and a niece Roberta Newmyer.
