John O. Uhl, 83, of Wooster died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville surrounded by his loved ones. ?Services will be Thursday at 1:00 at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel with Major Ron Dake officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. ?Friends may call Wednesday 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home.

John was born November 1, 1922 in Millersburg ?to Scott Sr. and Mary Katherine (Kauffman) Uhl. ??He married Ruth Ann Wickham on December 21, 1945. ?She survives.
John graduated from Millersburg High School in 1940. ?He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in the 1st Armored Division. ?He worked for Collier Printing for 35 years retiring in 1984. ?He enjoyed his cars and traveling.
In addition to his wife other survivors include children Roger (Dee) Uhl of Eustis, Florida, Ron Uhl ?and Barbara Uhl both of Wooster, grandchildren Roxanne James, Tiffany (Aaron) Stefanko, Brian (Julie) Uhl, Jason and Chris Uhl; ?great-grandchildren Ephrem Stefanko, Alexis, Daulton, McKenzie, Lena Uhl, sister Louise Hall of St. Cloud, Florida and sister-in-law Wanda Uhl of Wooster, nieces, nephews and friend of the family Nancy Raper.
In addition to his parents, brothers Scotty and Bill Uhl died previously.
